Jose Feliciano, CEO of Feliciano Financial Group, was the keynote speaker at the Regional Education on Aging, Caregiving and Healthcare Conference (REACH) 2017 on Oct. 4 at the Maude Cobb Convention and Activity Center in Longview. The REACH Conference is an annual event that offers training for caregivers and professionals who work with the elderly. It is a collaborative effort to provide educational workshops, sessions and networking opportunities. The theme of this year’s conference, “Navigating the future. People. Purpose. Passion.” covered all disciplines and areas of aging, caregiving and healthcare.

BBB serving Central East Texas will be hosting a free Texas Department of Motor Vehicle Mover Training Seminar on Thursday, Oct. 26.

The training is designed for moving companies and those in related industries to become more familiar with current laws in order to avoid violations. Business owners and employees will have the opportunity to ask questions, receive clarification and become educated on TxDMV procedures.

TxDMV personnel and representatives from other state agencies will cover advertising rules, required vehicle markings, claims handling procedures, tariff filings, proposals and contracts.

All moving companies and companies in related industries are welcome to attend the training on Oct. 26 at TJC West Campus Room 104. The event begins at 8:30 a.m. and will end at 11:30 a.m. Breakfast will be provided by Chick-fil-A on South Broadway.

Each participant will receive a presentation packet with form samples, phone numbers and other pertinent materials for conducting business in the moving industry.

BBB serving Central East Texas is also hosting a free Texas Department of Motor Vehicle Motor Carrier Enforcement Training (TxDMV) for all law enforcement within their 19-county service area on Oct. 26.

The training will be led by TxDMV Enforcement Division, and four Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) credits can be earned by attending the training. Participants will have an understanding of TxDMV’s involvement in motor carrier enforcement and will receive the knowledge and skills to access and use the TxDMV’s online database, recognize which small buses require operating authority and identify unlicensed moving companies.

The event is from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. with check-in at noon at TJC West Campus- Room 104. Lunch will be provided by Marcos Pizza. To register, please contact Olivia LeVoy at 903-581-5704. Registration is open until Oct. 20.
