Threlkeld & Co. Insurance has partnered with Employee Benefits Consulting LLC, to form a new entity, Threlkeld Benefits Partners LLC.

EBC, owned by Rachel Means, is a Tyler company with connections in Houston and Dallas. Together, the firms will offer the largest selection of benefits in the East Texas market, “bringing national brokerage and carrier experience with a local name and feel,” according to a news release. Ms. Means will serve as CEO of the new entity.

“We were in search of some talent to add to our employee benefits department when we were introduced to Rachel and EBC,” said Todd Threlkeld, owner of Threlkeld & Co. “We are absolutely convinced that our combined forces will deliver savings and service second to none in any size market, and we are excited about the growth and acquisition prospects of our new partnership.”

Ms. Means is a Beaumont native with a 12-year career in insurance consulting in markets throughout Texas and in Pennsylvania. She said her focus is on getting to know clients and their employees.

“We are personally involved in the lives and business of our clients and their employees,” she said. “We visit their offices and facilities to learn the cultures of their companies. We answer our cell phones nights and weekends when their children are at the pharmacy or emergency room. We know all the options in the market, we have the best carrier/partner relationships, and we use those resources to save money for our clients, and to make them more profitable companies.”

Jennifer Henry will serve as executive vice president of sales for Threlkeld Benefits. Other team members include Kim Braly, Kelly Sackett, Donna Clark. Debbie Mitchum, Paige Mendez and CeCe Rosales.

Threlkeld & Co. was started in 1929 by Calvin Clyde Sr., who brought in a partner, Robert Prestridge, in the 1940s. Kenneth Threlkeld joined the company in January 1965, when it became known as Clyde-Prestridge and Threlkeld Insurance. In 1982, Threlkeld formed Threlkeld and Covington Insurance with Rod Covington. Threlkeld bought out Covington in 1989 and changed the name in 1993 to Threlkeld & Company Insurance.
