Pizza buffet franchise shopping Tyler options

An Atlanta-based pizza buffet franchise is looking to come to Tyler.

Stevi B’s Pizza Buffet offers an assortment of fun pizzas, including loaded baked potato, hot wing and mac and cheese, as well as the new thin crust Greek and chicken pesto.

Lee Zimmerman, director of new store development for the chain, said the restaurant offers an all-you-can-eat buffet with a game room for kids and fun for the whole family. He said they also will customize pizzas for customers for the regular buffet price.

Stevi B’s Pizza Buffet was started in 1996 by two brothers in Atlanta. Since then it has slowly grown to 48 restaurants in 10 states, including Florida, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Alabama and Tennessee, he said.

Tyler could be the first Texas city to receive one of the franchises.

Zimmerman said the company is evaluating potential markets in the state and they like Tyler because it represents what the business thrives on — a good stable economy with that smaller, community oriented feel.

They are looking for a franchisee to open two Stevi B’s Pizza Buffet restaurants in Tyler, he said, adding that they also are looking at Longview. He said the corridor of Interstate 20 is a good place for them to start in Texas.

He said once the company identifies a franchisee and works through the qualification process, it would look for the right real estate and go through the renovation project, which could take as little as six months.

He said the locations do well when near grocery stores, where mothers bring their children after picking them up from soccer practice or other activities.

“That’s where we want to be,” he said.

He said they get involved in the communities they are in, partnering with local schools, little leagues and religious organizations.
