A new apartment complex has come to Tyler.

Palomar Apartments, at 5872 Old Jacksonville Highway, opened in August and offers one-, two- and three-bedroom units.

Property Manager Brittany Shepherd said construction is now about halfway complete, with about 80 percent occupancy on the complete half. It is slated to have nine buildings and 216 units.

The housing is described on its website as “a combination of extraordinary design and attention to detail” and “contemporary style for the country at heart.”

According to the website, amenities include microwaves, self-cleaning ovens, crown molding in living areas, balconies and patios, walk-in closets and full-size washer and dryer.

Additionally, Ms. Shepherd said the complex has open-concept floor plans that are “more modern,” with features such as kitchen islands and pendant lighting.

She said another thing that is unique about the floor plans is that most units have many windows.

The complex itself includes a pool, fitness center, conference room and yoga room.

Ms. Shepherd said the pool area offers an in-water lounge area, and the complex also is in the process of building a dog park, which is projected to be complete in February.

As far as why the location was chosen for Palomar Apartments, she cited growth on Old Jacksonville Highway.

“It is definitely very accessible to things,” she said.

Rent at Palomar starts at $832 per month.
