A national chain of sandwich shops, which uses the slogan “Flavornation” has announced its intent to open two locations in Tyler within the next three years.
Director of Franchise Sales for Erbert & Gerberts Jeff Thames said the 25-year-old company is looking to expand to the Tyler market.
“After celebrating a huge milestone this year — our 25 anniversary — and our success throughout the country, we are very excited about coming to Tyler to serve local residents,” he said.
The company was founded in 1988 in Eau Claire, Wis., and has seen growth from a single sandwich shop to more than 70 locations in eight states.
The company specializes in unique combinations, such as cranberry wasabi chicken and other flavorful combinations.
The company slogan of Flavornation is defined on its website as “You might notice a unique language in the Erbert & Gerbert’s world — sandwiches with names like Narmer, Bornk and Girf, and an obsession with the idea of Flavornation. What’s that all about? Well, to us, flavor is about more than just sandwiches. It’s about life. Bring us your tired, your hungry, your bored, and we’ll give them flavor. If it doesn’t just fill their bellies but also puts a smile on their face, well, that’s exactly the way we like to do it.”
Thames said the company provides healthy meals with vegetarian options at all locations along with classic options.
Thames said projected growth during 2013 and 2014 is targeted to Iowa, Illinois, Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Missouri and Nebraska, with additional franchises slated to open in Michigan and Texas.
Beside Tyler, other Texas cities being targeted for expansion include; Houston San Antonio, Dallas, Austin, Fort Worth, El Paso, Arlington, Corpus Christi, Plano, San Marcos, College Station, Lubbock, Abilene, Waco, Killeen, Richardson, Amarillo and Denton.
