Happy’s Fish Basket coming to Tyler

Andrew Gugar filed a building permit for interior and exterior renovations to the 3,976-square-foot building that will house Happy’s Fish Basket, at 2202 E. Fifth St.

Gugar, owner of Mercado’s and Posados restaurants, plans to open the new seafood restaurant in September, Posados Chief Operating Officer Scott Nordon has said. Tuscani Italian Restaurant and Joe’s Italian Grill were formerly in the space. Boone & Boone Construction is the contractor for the $660,000 project.

Michael Bradley is constructing a 5,434-square-foot office and light commercial building at 1327 Dominion Plaza, which is off Kinsey Drive, for $900,000. The Scates Group is the contractor for the “Bossart Office” project.

North American Reserve Corp. filed a grading permit to clear brush, cut trails and plow for soil preparation on raw land for the new SPCA of East Texas facility at 3349 W. Grande Blvd. Randal Brooks, of Brooks Petroleum Tyler, is the contractor for the project, which also includes a flood plain development permit application.

The SPCA of East Texas filed a building permit for new front doors, sheetrock and garage space at its current 1,500-square-foot facility at 5318 Old Bullard Road. Cooper Plastering is the contractor for the $1,200 project.

Sign permits were filed by Regions Bank (two permits), 100 E. Ferguson, $3,900 and $3,900, ArkLaTex Superior Signs, of Shreveport; Splash-N-Dash Car Wash (two permits), 2017 S. Broadway Ave., $8,701 and $4,324, Leon’s Sings Inc.; Hot Yoga Tyler, 2665 Park Ridge Drive, $2,000, Leon’s Signs; Allen Samuels Chrysler, 3120 SSW Loop 323, $1,049, Leon’s Signs; Shamrock/Lynch Food Mart, 3400 E. Fifth St., $2,625, Design Center Signs; Game Stop, doing business as Simply Mac, 4919 S. Broadway Ave., $3,400, Design Center Signs; and Times Square, 5201 S. Broadway Ave., $8,000, Pyle Properties, Sign Master of Tyler.

Bayless Homes is building a 2,599-square-foot house at 4599 Cascades Blvd. for $350,000. Joseph Runnels is the owner.

Gary and Karen Cooper are constructing a 4,904-square-foot home at 2819 Hogan Court for $325,000. David Cooper Quality Homes is the contractor.

ERM Properties filed two permits for a new duplex. They include 2,200-square-foot residences at 1521 and 1523 E. Lawrence for $100,000 each. Anderco is the contractor.

Johnna Young is adding a covered patio, outdoor kitchen and fireplace at 4327 Westbluff Court for $65,600. Woodland Builders Inc. is the contractor.

Preferred Pools is building a $65,000 pool at 6033 Graemont Blvd.

Kenneth Liles is replacing three windows at 4611 Leisure Lane for $2,988. Sears Home Improvement is the contractor.

Debbie Taylor is replacing a door at 3114 Sunnybrook Drive for $504. A-Z Construction is the contractor.

J. Concepcion Munoz is extending the front living room wall at 124 S. Saunders for $500.

There were two commercial temporary power permits filed by Christian Homes & Family Services, 5476 Hollytree Drive; and Simply Mac, 4919 S. Broadway Ave.. There were also two residential temporary electrical service permits and 18 HVAC permits.
