Vacant spaces remodeled for new stores

Two large vacant commercial spaces in Tyler are being remodeled for new stores.

Harbor Freight Tools will move into the 26,037-square-foot space at 3819 SSW Loop 323, which formerly housed Home Plus; Floors & More; and Cassity Jones Lumber.

KPE 3819 Loop LLC filed a building permit to make interior alterations to the existing space, including new offices, restrooms and a break room, an automatic bi-parting entry/exit door and vestibule. Marco Construction is the contractor for the $155,000 project.


Ivan Smith Furniture is renovating the 43,437-square-foot former Ace Hardware store, at 1921 ESE Loop 323, next to Hobby Lobby, to move its store there. Work includes constructing partitions and an office area for $10,000. Ivan Smith Furniture, of Shreveport, La., is the owner and contractor on the project. Ivan Smith Furniture is now located at 920 WSW Loop 323.


David Weaver filed a demolition permit for $9,000 of interior work on the 2,500-square-foot space that formerly housed Majors Pharmacy, at 101 E. Eighth St. The spot in Bergfeld Center will become a Subway restaurant. TJ Construction is the contractor.


Rainier Capital Management, of Dallas, is remodeling Gander Mountain’s 66,305-square-foot store at 151 Market Square Blvd. for $900,000. TCI, of La Crosse, Wis., is the contractor.


David Durrett is constructing a 4,258-square-foot professional office for New Birmingham, Inc. at 2367 Oak Alley. Thornton Design & Construction is the contractor for the $520,000 project.


Tyler Pain & Chiropractic is constructing a 1,975-square-foot clinic at 1430 ESE Loop 323 for $150,000. Luis Cornejo is the owner and H&R Design & Construction, of Flint, is the contractor.


Steve Thornton and J.P. Davis filed a grading permit to add 10 spaces and widen the drive at The Plaza at Oak Hollow, at 7220 Old Jacksonville Highway. Thornton Design & Construction is the contractor for the $14,500 project.

Cedrick LaSane, of Pearland, is constructing a 4,000-square-foot retail/office shell building for $100,000, at 913 W. Bow St. LaSane Construction is the contractor.

Proef LLC filed a grading permit for Republic Icehouse Restaurant, at 3807 University Blvd. Jacobe Brothers Construction is the contractor.

The city of Tyler is installing file storage and accessory equipment in its 2,400-square-foot storage warehouse at 220 N. Border for $48,183. Metal Buildings by MCM Inc. is the contractor.

JP Morgan Chase, of New York, is remodeling the 2,557-square-foot Chase Bank at 100 Independence Parkway No. 100 for $48,000. Work includes removing two office spaces in business banking and conference room. Bruehner Construction, of Salt Lake City, is the contractor.

Bryan Bateman is reroofing a warehouse and building an extra bathroom, break room, painting walls and floor and putting up lights at Beacon Roofing, 2804 E. Erwin St., for $42,735. Quality Roofing, of Whitehouse, is the contractor. Bateman also filed a permit to repave the parking lot and concrete sidewalk and install a forklift ramp and fence for $110,000. Stanley Asphalt Paving, of Henderson, is the contractor.

AT&T Mobility filed three permits to construct 150-foot communications towers with associated ground equipment compounds at 2612 McDonald Road, 4914 Hightech Drive and 2630 Smith St. They cost $50,000 each.

Sign permits were filed by Dobbs & Tittle, 3311 Woods Blvd., $5,000, Fashion Metal Art, of Hawkins; and Tyler Ink Studio, 5101 S. Broadway Ave., $5,593, Leon’s Signs Inc.

Commercial temporary power permits were filed by Head Masters, 1314 WSW Loop 323; and Reggie’s Burgers, 1308 WSW Loop 323.


Richard and Laura Redman are building a $73,000 pool at 1031 Wilder Woods. Excel Pools & Landscaping, of Flint, is the contractor.

Bluehaven Pools is constructing pools at 7698 Cross Road for $40,000; at 2342 Pinehurst St. for $45,000; and at 4310 Stonebrook Lane for $50,000.

Peerless Pool and Spas Inc., of Lindale, is building a $30,000 pool for Matt White at 6540 Emory.

David and Christie Gleaton are replacing a door at 3705 Lake Vista Circle for $1,674. All Seasons Window & Door, of Longview, is the contractor.

Dale Fowler filed a driving permit for 6033 Graemont.

There also was one temporary gas permit, two applications for residential temporary electrical service, one mechanic permit and 12 HVAC permits.
