TJC files permit for $14M dormitory

Tyler Junior College filed a building permit to construct a $14 million, 62,773-square-foot, four-story student dormitory at 1414 Magnolia Drive. HGR General Contractors is doing the work.

Chris and Samia Smith are installing a cased opening to adjoin two spaces for their restaurant, Chris & Sams Bar & Grill, at 2210 Three Lakes Parkway, Suite 140. Denson Construction Management is the contractor for the $5,000 project.

Mimi Le is finishing out a 2,000-square-foot space at 7492 S. Broadway Ave. for VIP Nails Spa. Thomas Contractor LLC, of Garland, is the contractor for the $42,500 project.

Marco Mora is replacing rotted studs, placing wood paneling and installing doors in an office area of a 2,160-square-foot garage-shop at 1128 E. Commerce. Venterraqua Inv. LLC is the contractor for the $2,500 project.

Richard Haessley Signs Inc. filed sign permits for Maurices, 8946 S. Broadway Ave., Suite 128, $7,900; and Versona, 8942 S. Broadway Ave., No. 168, $10,000.

Design Center Signs Inc. filed permits for Conaway Homes, 7924 S. Broadway Ave., Suite 500; two for Trinity Mother Frances, 800 E. Dawson; Taco Bell, 5978 Old Jacksonville Highway; First Christian Church, 4202 S. Broadway Ave.; East Texas Medical Center Cardiac Plaza, 2608 McDonald Road; and Taj Mahal Indian Cuisine, 5221 S. Broadway Ave.

A permit also was filed for Cash Store, 6721 S. Broadway Ave., $32,000, East Texas Signs.

Commercial temporary power permits were filed by JoAnn, 8966 S. Broadway Ave., Suite 132; Spa Nail Salon, 5101 S. Broadway Ave.; and Dr. Fanous, 921 Shiloh Road.


Bill and Linda Tullis are constructing a 3,720-square-foot home at 2241 Falecrest for $340,000. T-Top Construction is the contractor.

Starr Capital Investments Ltd. is constructing a 3,958-square-foot house at 6368 Manchester Court for $330,000.

Jordan Christopher Humphrey is building a 3,677-square-foot home at 1211 Dreamcatcher for $275,000. Jason Humphrey Homes is the contractor.

Conaway & Sons Ltd., of Whitehouse, is constructing a 3,843-square-foot home at 6655 Lacebark Circle for $260,873; and a 3,220-square-foot house at 6662 Lacebark Circle for $228,336.

Glory Builders Inc. is building a 2,170-square-foot house at 5817 Havens Trail for $189,500.

Mark S. Winkler filed for approval for construction on Lake Tyler to build a pier and boathouse at 18096 Sunshine Lane in Troup. Hanks Construction is the contractor.

Joey and Amy Green are pouring a concrete slab for storage/carport at 505 Limerick St. for $8,437. Nicandro Salazar is the contractor.

Maximino Amante is building an addition at 3202 Martha St. for $5,000. R&A Construction is the contractor.

All Seasons Window & Door is replacing windows for Kate Newberry at 701 Dorchester for $4,835.

Charles Evans is building a $3,500 carport at 1621 Timbercreek Drive.

Troy Yates is replacing doors at 2200 Brookhaven Drive for $2,296. A-Z Construction is the contractor.

Gary Sonnleitnen is working on a carport at 4401 Tartan Court for $2,000.

Yes Communities/Shiloh Pines filed permits for four mobile homes at 2525 Shiloh Road. Troy McGraw is the contractor.

Driveway permits were filed by Potter Concrete Ltd., 8966 S. Broadway; and Schmidt Concrete, 7314 Princedale.

There also were two applications for residential temporary electrical service, 29 HVAC permits, two mechanical permits and five duct testing reports filed.
