Athletic Director Wayne Coleman said he was excited to see the Tomato Bowl rebuilt. The district will host a groundbreaking at the conclusion of the final home game of the upcoming football season.

"We’re just ecstatic. I’m so happy for our kids. All these kids dream of playing in the tomato bowl and you don’t want to lose a historic place like," Coleman said. "As soon as the game against Nacogdoches is finished we’re going to get some shovels out and let the kids break ground."
