The majority owner of The Cascades in Tyler will announce today major development plans for the community.
Bill Cawley, of Dallas, will hold a press conference at 3 p.m. at the clubhouse to discuss improvements he has planned, which include new tennis courts, pools and monument signs, Todd White, a property owner at The Cascades, said.
“There will be multi-millions of dollars in capital improvements spent” within the next couple of years by the different owners of properties at The Cascades, he said.
The plans will be announced to home owners during a meeting this evening.
White said The Cascades has been “pretty dormant” for the last six years but Cawley, the original money behind the development, now controls the management companies that control the club house and golf course. White said with Cawley regaining control, he plans to finish a lot of the major improvements that were promised to residents there about five years ago.
White said there are new owners of The Mansions at The Cascades, luxury rental townhomes that are 100 percent occupied; and The Stretford at The Cascades, high rise condos that are about 50 percent occupied.
White, of Dallas, is the largest lot owner since acquiring 87 lots about two years ago. With Cawley’s announcement, White is kicking off his Pine Hill Subdivision he has planned for the community. Along with building partner Joe Runnels, he will build custom and spec homes on the lots, he said.
