A mother received minor injuries after she was struck by a car in Tyler Monday evening while trying to save her daughter.
About 8 p.m., a car was traveling south in the 200 block of Englewood Street when the 3-year-old girl ran into the street, according to a news release from the police department.
The child’s mother saw the toddler running toward the car and attempted to keep the girl from getting hit by the car but was struck by the vehicle suffering minor injuries. The mother was treated at a local hospital.
No traffic citations were issued, and the incident remains under investigation.
