Weather-related cancellations and postponements, as received by the Tyler Morning Telegraph:
All Smith County jury panels for Wednesday, Feb. 12 have been canceled.
Tyler ISD High School students who drive were released at 3:30 p.m. today to ensure their safety as they drive home. Students are advised to take alternate routes home to avoid icy road conditions. Buses will run on their normal operating schedule. All ACE programs at Tyler ISD middle schools are canceled for February 11th. Students must be picked up no later than 4:25 p.m. at their campus. Parents must contact their child’s campus about alternate plans if they cannot pick up their child at 4:25. Buses will run as scheduled for normal bus riders.
Some Smith County offices will begin closing at 4 p.m. due to weather. Smith County Republican Primary Election training scheduled for tonight has been canceled. Participants will be notified when rescheduled.
Tyler Junior College has canceled all classes and events starting at 5 p.m. and after because of the inclement weather, spokesman Fred Peters said. This applies to all campuses and satellite centers, and includes high school basketball games scheduled for the Wagstaff Gym on TJC's campus.
The city of Troup is cancelling several meetings scheduled tonight because of declining weather conditions. The meetings of the Troup Community Development Corporation, Planning and Zoning Commission and the city council were all rescheduled, according to a news release from the city. All of the meetings will take place next Tuesday, Feb. 18 in the Troup ISD administration building, 201 North Carolina St.
