Woman struck, killed by truck as she crossed East Gentry Parkway in Tyler this morning

A Tyler woman was killed this morning when she was struck by a vehicle as she crossed a major roadway. 

Don Martin, Tyler Police public information officer, said the accident happened just before 7 a.m. in the 1400 block of East Gentry Parkway.

The woman, identified as Minerba Esmeralda Moreno-Barron, age 35, of Tyler, died from injuries she sustained in the accident after being transported to a local hospital.Martin said Moreno-Barron was crossing East Gentry heading from west to east and was struck by a Ford F250 in the inside lane of southbound traffic.  She was not using the crosswalk that was provided for pedestrian traffic approximately 90 feet away from where she was struck.

The driver who struck Moreno-Barron was identified as Esteban Segura Cruz, 42, of Tyler.  Cruz was not found to be at fault in the accident.
