UPDATE: Person shot in Wood County where manhunt is underway

A person has been shot in connection with a manhunt in Wood County this afternoon

According to statements from Wood County officials, a man has been shot at least twice in an area where a manhunt has been underway since last night.

The shooting occurred near County Road 3145, where authorities have been searching for Daniel McLemore after he fired on authorities responding to a domestic disturbance in the 3500 block of FM 2088 near Quitman. 

Authorities have said a warrant was issued for McLemore for attempted capital murder and bond was preset at $500,000.

Emergency radio traffic indicates a man has been shot and is handcuffed and in custody, but officials would not confirm that it was McLemore. A dispatcher did tell Tyler Morning Telegraph that no law enforcment officers have been injured. 

At approximately 11 p.m. Monday evening, a DPS Trooper and a Wood County Deputy answered a call at 3595 FM 2088 in Wood County in reference to a disturbance.

Upon pulling into the driveway shots were fired at the officers. According to the Wood Co. Sheriff's Department the shooter was identified as Daniel McLemore. The shots were fired by McLemore as he stood in his driveway. The officers returned fire.

No injuries were reported in the exchange. McLemore fled from the scene and a manhunt for the individual is underway. McLemore is armed and should be considered dangerous. McLemore is describes as a white male, 5'9" 190 lbs.

A warrant has been issued for Attempted Capital Murder and bond has been set at $500,000. DPS, TDC, and Smith County assisted Wood County in the manhunt.

Authorities have not released a motive for the shooting.
