The Texas Education Agency has designated John Tyler High School as a T-STEM Academy for this school year.

It is one of 16 campuses or charter schools in the state to receive this designation.

T-STEM academies are rigorous secondary schools with a focus on improving instruction and academic performance in science and math-related subjects, according to an agency news release. The schools aim to increase the number of students who study and enter STEM careers.
