Police originally responded to information about a stabbing. While on their way, a second call reported that a child had been shot at Travelodge hotel at the corner of Mineola Highway and Loop 323.

They arrived on the scene to discover an incident which was the result of an argument between a man and a woman, with no child or shooting involved.

The man had a serious cut from attempting to gain entry into her hotel room by putting his arm through a plate glass window, and lost a great deal of blood as a result.

Police spokesperson Don Martin said, “The man has been transported to a local hospital for treatment and the incident remains under investigation at this time.”
