Texas Shakespeare Festival runs through July

The Texas Shakespeare Festival continues throughout July at Kilgore College’s Van Cliburn Auditorium.

The festival is presenting Shakespeare’s “Cymbeline” and “Macbeth,” the comedy “Noises Off,” the musical “My Fair Lady” and an original children's production called “The Lost Prince.”

Plays take place at 7:30 p.m. Matinee performances are at 2 p.m. (as indicated below with an asterisk).

The show scheduled is as follows:

* “Cymbeline,” Saturday, July 11, 13, 18, 20, 24, 26;

* “Noises Off,” today, Sunday and July11, 13, 17, 19, 24, 26;

* “Macbeth,” today, Sunday and Thursday and July 12, 17, 19, 25 and 27;

* “My Fair Lady,” Saturday, Thursday and July 12, 18, 20, 25, 27;

* “The Lost Prince,” July 16 to 19, 22 to 26 with all performances at 10 a.m.

After every matinee, watch technical crews change the set and lights from the matinee to the evening play. A company member informally narrates each changeover.

Backstage tours Tour of the costume shop and properties shop at the Texas Shakespeare Festival Center and scene shop in Turk Fine Arts Center. Tours are available by appointment any day except Mondays. The cost is $2 per person. Call 903-983-8601 to arrange for your tour.

Season tickets cost, $90; tickets to individual shows cost $30; padded beach seating, $24; Saturday matinees, $25; Sunday evenings, $25; group rates for 20 or more, $24; children's show, $7; group rates for children's show $5.
