To mark the final week of “Mediterranea: American Art from the Graham D. Williford Collection,” Tyler Museum of Art will present a lecture on Sunday by Dr. Clair Robertson, assistant professor of art history at The University of Texas at Tyler on Sunday.
Titled “American Artists in Italy in the Mid-19th Century,” the program is set for 2 p.m. at the museum, 1300 S. Mahon Ave. Admission is free, but reservations are requested and can be made by calling 903-595-1001, said a news release.
A reception will follow the lecture.
Dr. Robertson, will focus on American expatriate painters inspired by Italian history and culture of the 1800s as seen in “Mediterranea,”
The exhibition, featuring works by American artists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, concludes June 29.
