Country singer Casey Rivers to perform Saturday for Alzheimer's

Country singer Casey Rivers will perform in a concert on Saturday to raise money for The Alzheimer’s Alliance of Smith County.

The “Hope for Alzheimer’s concert” is set for 5 p.m. at Lane Chapel United Methodist Church, 8720 Old Jacksonville Highway.

There is no admission but those in attendance will be asked to donate to Alzheimer’s Alliance, said information from organizers.

Born and raised in Lindale, Rivers began to attract national attention while a contestant on the television singing competition “Nashville Star.” He has performed extensively as both a country and gospel singer.

The concert is being presented by Azalea Trails, a senior living community in Tyler, with additional support from Lanes Chapel United Methodist Church, Choice Rehab, R-Mart and Heart to Heart Hospice.
