Directed by Robert Viana, the play is a dark comedy, written by Paul Elliott.
In the play, Peter has crawled on a ledge and is prepared to jump. There he meets a professional suicide counselor, JM, who will make sure Peter goes out in style. JM shares with Peter information on how to draw a crowd, hold the audience and build tension when the TV cameras arrive. But then a rival counselor arrives on the ledge and explains that JM is a bust at suicide counseling and has fouled up every case he has pursued.
As the counselors argue, Peter decides to take matters into his own hands.
Edom Civic Theatre’s season will continue on June 28 with a patriotic/gospel musical revue directed by Eddie Pirtle. The one-night-only performance is a scholarship fundraiser. ECT presents a $500 scholarship to one Van and one Brownsboro high school senior.
“Smoke on the Mountain” directed by Mary Scott, will close the season Nov. 14 to 15. Tickets to these shows are $10 for adults; $8 for seniors and students.
