Mission of the organization
The Friends of the Troup Library’s purpose is to support the Cameron-J. Jarvis Troup Municipal Library’s collections, services and programs.
The Friends of the Troup Library’s main annual fundraisers are the Fall Luncheon and Silent Auction; “Souper Sunday” on Super Bowl Day; a semi-annual book sale; and a special call for donors to support the Summer Reading Program and other children’s activities and services. In addition to the above, the Friends group presents a spring essay contest for children in elementary and middle schools, an art display for children and a series of public programs for adults and families. This year the Friends in cooperation with the Troup Genealogy/Historical Society published a handsome coffee table book – The History of Troup – 1850s to 1950s on sale at the Library and many other places in Troup.
All who wish to support the Troup Municipal Library are encouraged to join the Friends.
